Re: Not a good experience with S.O.G.
If the gun is in excellent condition cosmetically then I would definately take an extra step before I declared it crap. Take the grips off and soak that thing in mineral spirits for 24hrs before you send it back. You probably have a jewel of a gun that has just been crudded up with cosmoline.

Re: Things I would like to find
The P64 is a point and shoot deep concealment gun in my opinion. Leave the lasers for the online gamers and tactikool mall ninjas.

Re: P-64 vs cz82 recoil
The first I ever heard about recoil being an issue with the P64 was when read it here. I shoot mine regularly and the recoil is weak in comparison to my P4AT or my wife's J-Frame 38. My 14 year old son shoots the heck out my P64 and has never said a word about recoil.

Re: Compare recoil of .38 snub vs P64
When I bought my P64 I was prepared for the worst in terms of recoil. I was pleasently surprised by how managable the gun was with all ammo I fired through it. My Glock 33 on the otherhand...

New, considering a P64 for a CC or BUG
With the Wollf springs the DA triggeR isn't any tougher than the DA pull on a snub nosed 38. SA is so light its almost scary. There are no parts available. Holsters are plentiful as most ppk holsters fit pe

Barnaul Ammo????
I bought the 95gr Barnaul in 40ct Green/red boxes. It is very clean and has been 100% reliable through 2500rds in my P64, PA63 and Bulgarian PM.

P64 RANGE REPORT
Nice shooting. I love my little commie bastard and enjoy the heck out of shooting it. I was surprised to find that I can shoot my P64 more accurately and consistently than any other handgun I own. Any time I start thinking the P64 stings a little, I switch over to my PM40 and am reminded of what pai...

AIM has P64s in stock
Looks like a fresh batch opf P64's just hit the shores. AIM has them for $169 with holster and 2 mags. http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F1P64&groupid=3 http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc81/jbabbler/pistols/f1p64a.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc81/jbabbler/pistols/f1p64b.j...

However, as Dickfunk stated, if that is an issue to you then I would recommend the R61 or SMC918 as an alternate slim 9x18 carry gun.

Made it out to the range today...
Got some range time today and decided to take along my P64, PA-63 , PM40 and Glock 23. I knew the Glock would be fine so I saved it for last and fired up the P64. Accuracy was shockingly good and yielded me a nice silver dollar sized hole at 7 yards with 50 rounds of ammo. Function was smooth and fl...

If the safety is OFF and you drop the gun directly on the hammer it very well could AD. With the safety on, the firing pin is protected by the safety block and cannot be struck by the hammer. I love my P64 and carry it everywhere but the PA-63 and R61 have a true firing pin safety that actually bloc...

lol... that's quite a haul. I live "in the country" but I can be at one of 3 Walmarts in 10 minutes.
