$20 mags...Ha!
I got one for $12 at a show early last summer. Unfortunately, it was the only one he had. Given the number of people looking for them, $20 sounds like a good deal, if it's good shape. Better to actually HAVE the mag at $20, than to be still looking for the mag at $10? - John

Should have my p-64 by wednsday......
A first, my DA pull went beyond 'unholy', it was 'un-possible'! Burrs on the hammer and trigger bar created a solid mechanical stop and something would have snapped before the trigger could have been pulled all the way to the rear. Fortunately, I took it apart, put in a totally weak mainspring and f...

Dumping mags ? ? ?
See my post in Mods/Fixes/Repairs under "Springs - Stand by" Mag retention is sort of a 'tug of war' between the mag catch (pushed by the mainspring), the edge of the raised 'bumpout' on the mag, and the magazine spring pushing the rounds against the bottom of the slide. As the mag empties...

P-64 Question
the Don Hume 'JIT Slide', No 18, for the PPK is a dang near perfect fit (May have to stretch it a little at the bottom rear of trigger guard?) Black or brown and about $25. I don't think there's a better CCW option available (IMHO) - John

You shouldn't have to give up your 'improved' trigger. Look carefully at the catch/bump on the rear of the magazine and the hook on the front of the release. If they are sharp/crisp, and perhaps stoned/filed slightly negative (angled such that they pull together tightly), your mags should stay in. A...

TRIGGER RETURN SPRING
Unless you took it ALL the way apart, the spring is probably still in there, just not positioned correctly. It lifts the trigger/transfer bar (and the disconnector) when the slide is in battery, to allow the trigger pull to trip the sear. It takes some patience and perhaps dental tools to position t...

Well, you can always do what I did, get two and convert one to 9mm for the wide selection of ammo. Keep the original Tok-chambered one for noise making at the range. Hollow point ammo is few and far between (and expensive) It's a little large for CCW anyway, IMHO.

Do I have your mag?
I got mine, a clean and numbered original, at a show from David Mcwhorter Sales, clipgrip@aol.com, 269-962-0214. They're in Battle Creek MI.

Fobus paddle holster
The Fobus that was "supposed" to fit my PPK was too narrow, enough that you couldn't draw it back out reliably. I drilled out the rivets, put 1 mm washers between the halves, and pop riveted it back together. Snaps in and out like a dream. However, it's still to narrow for my P-64. My Fobu...

Do I have your mag?
Mine came with one # matching mag, 07316, but my spare is 00248 if anyone is interested in a trade. What a neat idea, a registry/swapmeet of numbered mags!

16# replacement spring caution!
JB (from another 'JB') - Many gunsmiths are reluctant to modify trigger actions, especially for people and/or guns they are not familiar with. They are afraid of liability issues, but are not going to tell you that directly. If you follow the excellent directions posted elsewhere on this site, chang...

First DA Trigger Pull
This is most surely the disconnector failing to rise up into the slot for it in the slide. Causes can be: dirt and/or dried lubrication on sides of disconnector, burrs likewise, weak trigger spring, which should be lifting the trigger bar when slide goes into battery. Take the recoil spring out, so ...

New P-64
Doug68 - Welcome aboard! See the post "Trigger harder at end of pull", down a few weeks, for some tips/ideas. Ammo? Wolf 100 is good practice ammo. I found some Barnaul 95 JHP years ago, for my PA-63, and 'hoard it' for carry loads. Hornady makes a good defense load at 95, but a bit pricey...

Decided against the P-64
First of all, let me apologize for several of our "commentators", who perhaps mean well, but.... Having said that, "I feel your pain", I cannot pull the DA trigger with two fingers, much less hit anything if I try. My solution, perhaps not popular with courts, was a modification ...
