Yes, the "safety decocker" is a feature so you will not have touch the hammer when using it.
I know, it looks weird and scary and I always handle the pistol like its going to fire.
Never had a discharge, but have not actually used the decocker much.

Re: Why do I bother with modern subcompacts?
I have gotten away from preformance ammo cause I liked to shoot a lot of it before I was satisfied with the functioning. Lets say 150 rounds no problems. It just cost too much to find out and then if it did'nt, well, what a waste. How does the Kahr do with quality ball 115?

Re: Correct de-cocking procedure?
All this is done with the muzzle pointed down range or "safe direction" I take my trigger finger out of the trigger guard and point it forward along side and underneath the slide. I use my trigger finger here to support the pistol on that side to hold it straight. I then come up with my th...

Re: Frozen safety.
Hey, We are here. That is not uncommon. The hammer rides over the safety barrel and "pins" it in place. Take the slide off and if safety is still hard to rotate there is great info here on safety removal. I would not recommend trying to get the safety too loose as it will loosen up with sh...

Re: Year Question
Why worry about magazine capacity in the P-64 when you can "New York reload." Two is good.
MY P-64 is petite. Note the mammoth PA-63 to the right.

Great ammo. Copper washed with three light stakes to hold the bullet in case. On the "hot side"

Re: Which magazine is correct?
What is different about the earlier pistols that makes the late magazines not work? I thought I read they would interchange. Thanks for that info and correction.

O.K. this is from one of Norm's post: (The following information was provided to the Forum by a member in Poland, "Bartos"! Bartos has been a very valuable member in making previously unknow information about the P-64 available to us. He is also a member of the Polish Military in an Airbor...

Re: Which magazine is correct?
That is a good question. Early mags have a larger cut out for the slide stop. The latter mags have approx. half the cut out.
Early mag---large
late mag----small
I am not sure when the change occured so can not say which is "correct" in a 1969, but they are interchangeable.

This trigger always reminds me that a crisp clean pull through is what is best. I should not try to "feel" it or get on the trigger.

Re: Year Question
Nice pistol. I like the round hammers best. I believe they respond better to new springs. The really hard effort on a slow pull back, at the very end before let off, in da is not as noticable on round hammers in my opinion. I believe I have read every thread on here. I became overwhelmed with info a...

Re: One more question please regards reliabilty
MY first outing 150 + rounds, no problems. Since then with many others, no problems My first outing with other micro 380's and 9mm did not fair well. If the pistol jams once I start not liking it. Since this forum deals with P-64's you will hear about problems I can not think of another pistol this ...

The cleaning rod fits inside the holster in a leather straw inline with and beside the top of the slide.
