Original or Not?
I have to admit that I am torn, on one hand I have the feeling that I should enjoy it as and leave it alone tame it not tame me. However the other part wants to tinker and personalize. I have decided that I will leave it alone until I am certain. I do enjoy seeing the nice pics some folks have post...

Not that anyone asked ( ), but I'm pretty sure you can use a PA-63 magazine in an SMC-918. The tops look exactly the same. The PA-63 is one round longer, though.

Full mag feed problem
I took two of mine to the range recently, and I got feeding problems again. One is stock, the other has the hammer and recoil springs replaced. I'm shooting Silver Bear 94gr JHP. Maybe they don't like steel cases? I'd get a round jacked up at a funny angle, like the mag wouldn't quite let go or some...

My FEG AP's came in
Being a cheap fellow, it occurs to me to ask: what's the cheapest way to get kerosene or something chemically close under another name?

I second the praise for this board. I only visit two boards, and this is one.
Does anybody have a link to the "adding dots to the sights" thread?
ETA: Never mind - I found the threads. Sometimes, you just gotta look. ::)

Have you actually installed the 91/30 action in the 44 stock, and it fits? That is too cool!
How does it affect accuracy?

CASTLE DOCTRINE
The Missouri Castle doctrine also covers you in your car, or in a "residence or habitation." So it applies not only in your home, but in a motel room, or a tent, or an RV, or someone else's home.
I think we got a good one.

My 1968 P64
anjdrifter - I think that in that era, behind the Iron Curtain, 9mm meant 9x18. We call it 9x18 because 9mm here and now means 9x19.

My 1968 P64
My 1969 is tame on the recoil, too. I'd heard all these horror stories, and it just doesn't seem that bad with that one.Hey I have a 1969 P-64 and I think it is pretty tame the recoil also.

For those of you that carry the P-64...
I carry my Makarov every day. I leave it loaded with one in the pipe, hammer down, safety off. I'm with Donnerwetter on the reasons. If I get to the range, I clean afterwards. If I don't get to the range, I clean it once a week. Once I get my P-64 failure to feed issues worked out, I'll be carrying ...
