Re: Need a new decoker/safety

My favorite repair action was "reset drawer." That meant a generally frustrated trooper had pulled a drawer of sensitive radio equipment out and slammed it back into the rack. Resulting in it magically working again - at least for a little while.

Re: Need a new decoker/safety

I worked on satcom/wide-band radio. We R2ed radio stuff too, and occasionally K-Balled another radio to do it.

Re: What were they thinking?

Looked at those options before too. P3AT barrel walls are so thin shooting .380 scares me a bit. P-11 might be a good option to convert but I never took any action to do so. I was hoping to get a 9x18 Kevin barrel and a Baby Desert Eagle, but Magnum Research tells me they have modified the pistol en...

Re: What were they thinking?

true, but the extremely low prices of the 9x18 pistols are basically subsidized by governments that no longer exist. i think a new production makarov made in the US would probably cost $400-$500.
If they made em, I'd buy one or two also.

Re: Need a new decoker/safety

Can't speak for the sellers but there are several listed on gunbroker, just did a search for p64 safety and got 8 or 9 results.

Re: What were they thinking?

Yep, but I've never lived or worked in Poland. I have in the UK and Germany. The lawman with a white hat and six guns blazing is a uniquely American thing. I think we as a culture place more value on a pistol that others do. I assume that is why foreign countries have issued P64's, Makarovs, PPKs, N...

Re: What were they thinking?

In the US, we expect LE to shoot their pistols. Not the same in Europe, especially during the cold war. I was in the UK 2 years years ago and most Patrol Officers are still unarmed. They wear stab vest and carry night sticks. Armed security/LE carry MP5s. I think Europeans view / have viewed pistols...

Re: What were they thinking?

I don't think the Poles planned for their Officers to ever use the pistol in anger. SImilar to the German's with their PP and PPKs.

Re: What were they thinking?

I had a $1300 Kimber 1911 stolen out of my car while I was at court. Police recovered it 18 months later, in similar condition to when it was stolen. It was in the wasteband of a crack dealer's pants in Denver. I haven't carried a gun that cost more than $400 since. I love and trust my milsup pistol...

Re: Corbon Powerball 70gr

LOL, I carry/carried Powerball in all of my 9x18 guns and S&B FMJ in my spare mags. Functioned perfectly in my P64/P83 before I sold them. Clicked on this hoping to find some ballistic reports or gel test results. .380 version looked pretty good.

Re: Hammer spring poundage

Grip didn't make a difference. I went through several mags trying different grips and regardless of grip the mag dropped on the last round every time. Putting in a heavier hammer spring is the only thing that worked -- At least for mine.
