I missed a PM from Brian a few days ago.
There is a group buy on his mold.
Anyone else here interested?

bullet molds for the Makarov
Brian,
What's the word on your mold? I was casting recently and I would love to have a 6 cavity mold to replace my 2 cavity 9mm Mak mold.
Keep us posted.
Thanks,
Dave

Need a Barrel for my P-64
The chrome bores in the P-64 should hold up pretty well. I trust your judgement that the barrel is trashed. The one option to explore is the dimensional similarity to the PA-63 barrel. The PA-63 is a bit longer but stainless (416) PA-63 barrels are available from www.e-gunparts.com for $42.00. I've ...

P64 firing pin
Dale,
Welcome to the forum. Of all places for D.B.Cooper to resurface, we are honored you chose here.
I think it was gunneyrabbit that had a parts gun not too long ago.
It was the one with the crushed frame. Might shoot him a PM.

magazine base repair/replace?
The pinky extension is molded to the base plate and not removable in itself. If you just broke the end of it off you could recontour the base plate to clean up the broken area. I have intentionally removed the pinky extension on one of my magazines. I took a hacksaw and cut the base of the magazine ...

bullet molds for the Makarov
Brian, I appreciate your response. I like the design of your bullet above. If I had the choice of your bullet or the current Lee mold at the time I needed a mold, I would have chosen your design hands down. To that end, if you do have enough interest to have the mold produced, I'd be in for one. Pre...

bullet molds for the Makarov
Brian, There would be more to modifying a mold than "drilling it out". Even if you could find a drill at .366 (closest standard is U at .368), running the drill into the .358 mold would not only increase to diameter of the hole but remove the smaller diameter ring used for creating the lub...

Slugged Barrel
You slug a barrel by driving an oversize (slightly) soft lead slug down the barrel with a wooden dowel. Measure the diameter and you will have the groove diameter of the barrel.
I use an unsized cast bullet and it usually works pretty well.
Cast bullets are generally sized .001 over groove diameter.

I'm with Norm on the "O" frame presses. The turret top presses don't hold a candle to the "O" frames in terms of strength and rigidity.
Either the Lyman or RCBS "O" frame presses will serve you a lifetime and then some.

Magazines
A couple of hours ago SOG put up a new website.
They have listed both P-64 and PA-63 magazines at $9.95 each.
They are not listed as out of stock and you can add them to your cart. I haven't called as I don't need any more.
Just a heads up for the rest of you.

Reloading the 9x18
I have an RCBS Rockchucker I've had for 28 years. It has loaded thousands of rounds of all types. At this point I use it for bottleneck rifle cartridges. It is slow but you have good "feel" of the operations performed on it. On the other hand, my Dillon RL-550B has been around 15 years. I ...

Reloading the 9x18
With the high ammo prices and current shortages, a lot of people are turning towards reloading. The reloading component market is victim of the buying frenzy also. Try to find common powders, primers and bullets these days. Even presses and other equipment is often back ordered. Hope some day this w...
