Thanks Brian.

Wolf Primers.
gunney, I've used thousands of Wolf rifle primers, large and small, without any problems. I don't have any Wolf small pistol primers but I wouldn't hesitate buying them. I used Wolf small rifle primers in 40 S&W for a Beretta CX4 carbine. Small rifle primers are common in hot 40 S&W loads as...

Wow people really jack up the prices...
On the rare occasion I wander through a pawn shop, I always find their gun prices laughable. Never have I found anything worth buying.

724wd, Assuming you load the chamber by inserting a mag and letting the slide fly home, it may be a weak firing pin spring. You could verify this next time you'r shooting it. Just stop while shooting, drop the mag and eject the chambered round for inspection. If it is dented it's by firing pin inert...

Are you sure it's powder and not excessive oil being flung from the slide?

I know some here don't like Bullseye but it works for me. With a Meister 93 gr (.365) or a Lee cast at 102 gr sized to .366, 3 grains of Bullseye works very well. I'm looking forward to the group buy Lee mold that brianintheup organized last spring. It's a truncated cone design rather than the Lee r...

Carbon build up in shell casings!
All my brass is tossed in a tumbler before loading. Walnut shells and a dab of Lyman brass polish every other load.
I'm not trying to remove all the internal carbon but an over night tumble will usually get rid of most of it.

new sights
The negative of the sights is they are small and a bit diffucult to see.
The positive of the sights is they are small and low profile for carry purposes.
They are surely adequate for the intended purpose of the pistol.
I can't say I'd change mine even if given an option.

ammo for the p-64?
71 grains may be a mistake but bullets are commonly weighed in grams in Europe. If it were 7.1 grams, that would equate to 109 grains...within the realm of possibility.

Switching to the P64
The weight difference between the P-64 and PA-63 isn't really an issue.
The PA-63 loaded (7+1) weighs 23.6 oz.
The P-64 loaded (6+1) weighs 23.8 oz.
The only difference is an additional round with the -63.

New P64
I think smaller hands may be an advantage. The P-64 is a perfect fit for her. A CZ-82 is too much of a handfull due to it's width.
The P-64 does have a 20 lb recoil spring and an 18 lb hammer spring. Double action is still a bit stiff for her but workable.

She's 5'4" at 125 lbs.
She has hands normal for her size and the P-64 fits her perfectly.
She really likes to shoot the P-64.
She has a ball with her AK too.

New springs didn't seem to help trigger much.
"Grinding" the new recoil spring is nothing more than flattening the last coil of each spring end. Look at the original spring as an example. This will shorten the spring enough to allow your slide to be reinstalled.
