Re: What 9x18 is OK for an indoor range?
I know of a few indoor ranges here that ONLY allow you to use the ammo they carry and only if you buy from them...which is usually at inflated prices.
Some of the reason is to keep it from blowing thru or accelerating the wear on their bullet stops.

Re: Gunsmith Specials
If parts were plentiful and cheap, I would say go for it. Considering that a safety goes for $40 on GunBroker, maybe not a good idea unless you like to tinker.

No matter how many 1911's I see, I never get tired of looking at them. Thanks.

Re: Any Mosin Nagant fans?
I know folks are going to say "it didn't happen" without pictures. The pictures are in my mind. I stayed with a buddy over the weekend and we decided to do some mid-range shooting. He was shooting a .270 WSM that we had made some handloads for. I was shooting my 1937 Mosin 91/30 that I ma...

Re: Rubber Grips?
Here's what I imagine:
Marschal grips routed out somewhat to fit a rubber insert.
Either that or copied entirely in rubber like the Makarov grips.
Ultimately I'm hoping to have a small beavertail added to my P64. It will keep my hand from riding up and getting slide cut.

Re: What were they thinking?
I don't go by cost, but demonstrated reputation. My Makarov that I bought in 1994 was known to be super reliable and accurate. I paid $150 for it new. Still have it. I researched the P-64 a bunch before I bought it, and like the Makarov before it, it is my CCW gun. A reliable and accurate gun doesn'...

DeSantis Ankle Holster
Let's try this in the correct forum. Did a comparison of dimensions between the Ruger LC9 and P64 and found them to be very close. Bought a DeSantis Apache ankle holster and it fit and worked great. It didn't move unless I moved it and even with the Marshall grips you couldn't tell I was carrying. T...

Re: Prosepective P64 owner
There was a guy on Gun Broker in Europe who sells the magazines. I got one from him and it was a quality piece. Sorry I don't recall the name, but he was selling them for about $20 not including shipping.

Re: Hornady Critical Defense Ammo
What I've seen around the web for this ammo in general, is that it will expand upon a gnat's fart with regularity. Against barriers such as auto sheet metal, gypsum walls, etc.... not so much. So if you have a clean shot at your attacker, it will do what it's supposed to.

Re: J AND G LAWSUIT
While J&G was involved in the Gunwalking scandal, I can say they are serious about being honest and upright. They used to have a store in Tempe and I went there quite often (I really miss their presence in the valley). They asked people to present ID for the purchase of ammo at the time (mid 90'...

Re: P64 vs PF9
One issue I have with the PF9 is the plastic sights. Now a Glock also has plastic sights too, but they are much tougher than those used on the PF9.
