charter arms

I have an Undercover .38 that I inherited years ago. It's one of the original Charters built in the mid-1960s with a low S/N, still looks good as new. The only work I've done on it was to install Pach grips. Nice lightweight carry gun. It gets shot now and then but as anjdrifter noted never with +p ...

How do you carry your CZ-82?

Another vote for #1 condition. I have never (yet) been in a situation where I felt the need to have a round in the tube; that's a serious accident waiting to happen. hangfire

Question: Mineral spirts effect on gun finish?

jimhadar, Norm is 100% correct. My most recent P-64 got a 24 hour soak in mineral spirits in the hot GA sun (remove the plastic grips first), followed by a few blasts of non-synthtic Birchwood Casey Gun Scrubber (wear rubber gloves for that part) which did in fact lift off the red dot, then a thorou...

No P64!

I'm with you guys. Whenever I shoot more than a few rounds I wind up with a blister on my middle finger where it sits just under the trigger guard. I like my P-64s. They're well made and quite accurate for short barrel pistols. But I view them more as curios than frequent shooters. May be the reason...

CHESTNUT RIDGE SUPPLY?

I am not familiar with this company. Their prices definitely look good. However some of the P-64's in the photos on their website (esp. 2nd and 3rd ones from the top) look rough - maybe just bad photography?

Kel-tec 2000 carbine in 40 s&w

rottenrick, fwiw I have the KT Sub 2K in 9mm with the S&W59 magazine. Bought it several years ago on a whim @ a gun show and have not regretted it. I get long gun accuracy with a pistol round out to 25 yds (limit of my indoor range), practically no recoil, and I've yet to experience a malfunctio...

Ammunition

Agree 100% with Martilyo about Sportsman's Guide. www.sportsmansguide.com Of the several different online ammo sellers I've used, SG overall has the best prices when factoring in the buyers club discount and the $10 off coupons they frequently issue.

P-83

Does anyone on the board have experience with the P-83 Wanad? I believe it was the successor to the P-64. There is a limited amount of information (much of it in Polish) online. A couple of sources state that they were exported to the U.S. in very limited quantities. I'd like to add one to my milsur...

Grips for CCW & Recoil

Hogue Handall Jr. is a good (but very snug) fit on the P-64 and it absorbs a lot of recoil. There is some good info on different installation techniques for this grip elsewhere on the P-64 board.

Pocket Carry Holster ?

tokarev, the 2nd one (Pro-Tech) appears to be more of an IWB holster. Let us know if you find a good one, P-64 owners are always on the lookout for the perfect (preferably inexpensive) holster.

Latest Pocket Carry, Just Need a REALLY BIG POCKET

That is a fine looking pistol, hope your buddy never wants it back because it's a definite keeper. There's a good write up on the company and their guns in the Blue Book.

Red safety dot

The red dot that is supposed to be just beneath the safety lever is missing and unaccounted for on one of my P-64s. Came that way from J&G so I don't know if it was removed by cleaning (I read on another board that certain solvents like Gun Scrubber can do that) or just wore off. In any event I'...

do you not use the spring fix?

I kept the original springs in my P-64 and have been very pleased with both the double action and single action trigger pull. Only thing I've replaced was a trigger return spring that broke first time I fired the pistol.

Kel-Tec P3AT

MagTech 95 grain FMC is my P3AT carry ammo of choice. Muzzle velocity exceeds, and muzzle energy approaches, .38 special. Once a year or so I'll light off a few rounds at the range just to stay in practice but for the most part it stays in the pocket holster - definitely is not a fun gun to shoot.
