Re: Found more P-83 Wanads
Nice to find one other person ^^^ who doesn't do pics. I don't. probably never will, don't even own a d__n digital camera. I think everyone who can swing it should buy a P-83 right now, while good ones are available. Yeah, more might be imported later but we don't know that. Take it from someone who...

Re: Dilemma for 2010
Deltacornbread the CZ-52s are still out there but yep they're scarcer now and you'll have to pay up a bit. I snagged one in near mint condition this afternoon at a shop I visit maybe twice a year, guy had 6 in stock. I too have been trolling around for a CZ 70, they're interesting little pistols. On...

Re: Wolf
Good question, I've wondered about that also. The only Wolf handgun ammo I currently use is 9X19 in various semis (Glock/Ruger/S&W/Springfield), never had a problem other than it's dirty. Used to use it in P-64s but got religion after I read all the warnings on the board.

Re: Please Compare Bulgarian Mak and P83
I have fired my Bulg. Mak and P83 a grand total of one time apiece so this is just my initial impression fwiw. For comparison sake both pistols were new/unissued, firing 50 rounds of 94 gr. FMJ Silver Bear in each @ 7 yards. Both functioned flawlessly. The Mak was a bit more accurate (but not as acc...

Re: This guy has got to be off his rocker.
In addition to the safety and trigger comments in the seller's description another one that jumps out is "There may be more issues". Hmmm. $200 seems pricey for a parts gun, be interesting to see if he sells it.

Re: Saiga-12... My other passion (moneypit)
paulski, awesome job on that Saiga! That is one very cool shotty indeed. Saiga-12 is now on my short list of must-have guns. I can relate to your original post about switching over to shotguns because of the pistol ammo situation. Shotgun shells seem to always be in stock at stable prices. I bought ...

Re: Red Safety 'dot' replacement
I had the same issue awhile back. juniustaylor is right, red nail polish works like a charm. Be sure to degrease the spot first. Also go real easy with the applicator, in my case one small drop of polish completely filled the space.

Re: Fort Pistols
The FORT website is most interesting. They make a little bit of everything, including several very cool looking pump-action shotguns.
Just a suggestion, let's not start any "they aren't reliable" balls rolling on these particular weapons until we know a lot more about them.

Re: Too good not to share!
I love my P-64's. They are inexpensive reliable and accurate. What more can you ask for. Yep, they're war guns, built for hard use and minimal maintenance under extreme field conditions. Every milsurp handgun I own is tougher, more reliable and in some cases (like P-64) more accurate than my commer...

Re: Best solvent/cleaner for bore?
I was using Hoppes #9 on my P-64s, more recently I've been using Kleen Bore Formula 3 with good results. It simplifies things by cleaning, lubricating and preventing rust in one operation.

Re: OC vs. CC How do you carry?
I've lived in a large urban area since the early 60s. In that time I can't recall ever seeing a non-LEO open carrying a gun. If you OC in a store or a restaurant they'll probably ask you to leave. They might even call the cops. Sad but true. Life in the city. Salt Lake City may not be the biggest c...

How to carry...
The GunMate size 06 (medium frame pistol) nylon pancake holster fits the P-64 like a glove. I've tried a half dozen different OWB holsters, this one's the best I've found, very functional and comfortable for everyday wear. It won't break the bank either, 12 bucks and change from Midway, link below. ...

I think it's all perception - mine is stock in all areas and I have no issues with recoil. ??? Ditto. My P-64s and other milsurps are 100% stock. Only thing I've ever added is Hogue Handall Jr. grips. Look back through the forum at the posts by guys who have screwed up their P-64s tinkering with th...
