Re: A JAMMED P-64
Did you square off the ends of the new recoil spring? The new springs are round wires while the originals where flattened on the ends. If you do this you will notice that the spring at the rear end will drop down just enough to stay free of the slide.

If you remove it you will notice machine marks. You can polish these surfaces.

Don't clean the grips or soak the grips in chemicals!

Re: Light primer strikes with Wolff springs?
Which springs did you replace and what weight? Did you remember to put the hammer spring bushing on the hammer plunger? Did you clean the firing pin channel?

Re: P64 Springs?
Key with these springs is that you do have to file the ends flat, don't leave them in the round. This allows thenm to seat better.

Re: Made a parts gun this weekend...
Is the slide still stuck? There is a way of drilling out the barrel so that you can save the slide. If the budge is not too bad you may be able to lightly hammer the slide back so that you can remove it.

Re: field stripping a bear
I would consider sqauring off the ends of the recoil sping and checking for that pin on the frame.

Re: field stripping a bear
I just remembered, on one of mine the trigger pin is loose and sometimes it will stick out a fraction of an inch on one side of the frame. Check the pins in the frame to make certain they are all flush. 90% chance that this is the issue on yours.

Re: field stripping a bear
Did you grind the ends of your new springs flat so that they look like the originals. If you forgot to flatter the ends it makes getting the slide on and off very difficult. If you rotate the recoil spring and watch the end near the frame you can see how it snugs up against the frame.
