Re: Flat, Concealable Floorplate
I too, reside in the People's Republic of Marylandistan! Carry in your residence is legal, open or concealed. That said, looks like a good idea if you can fire it without discomfort to your little finger. I personally like the pinky extension for getting a firm grip on my P-64. Every little bit help...

Re: Submarine Walkthrough & Tour- The U995
Very cool, Curly.
Years ago I spent some of my free time playing Silent Hunter III and IV. The type VII-C was one of the boats you command in the sim.
I made several attempts to complete a career, but never survived the end of the war in "realistic" mode.

Re: CH4D file trim die
Been using the Lee Quick Cutter with good results. Dies are not too expensive. Also started using a RCBS Quick Change Case Holder when reaming brass and cleaning primer pockets. My hands have been grateful. For primer pockets, it is easy to chuck the tools up in a drill and allows good progress to b...

Re: Safety not disengaging with round in chamber
If you want to use hollow point ammo, try some Hornady Critical Defense. Feeds well in both of my P-64s but is expensive. When at the range, try using Red Army Elite brass cased FMJ. It is fairly inexpensive and runs flawlessly. Training with it should prepare you for the feel of the Critical Defens...

Re: Makarov barrel compatability or replacement barrels P64
FYI: The P64 will feed and shoot .380 rounds without any modifications. May not be as accurate as using 9x18 Makarov, but will still hit the vitals consistently within 25'.

Re: FEG R61
Don't own one but I think the p-64 is slightly larger and definitely heavier. You should expect a little more recoil after the barrel swap. Interested to hear your results when finished.
Might pick up a R-61 if I come across one that is C&R eligible.

Re: Trigger Pin Out of Position
I must admit to having made the same discovery on one of my P-64s. Luckily, it was caught before doing too much damage. I pay more attention when reassembling, now.

I do recall seeing a couple in the past and never gave it much thought. Perhaps I should have.

^^^^^ What Manicmechanic said. Always use lubricants that will perform at extremes in any weapon that may be relied upon for defensive purposes. On polymer framed weapons, make sure the lube chosen is safe for use on polymers.

Re: Carry questions- or Resurrecting a dead horse to beat
Ketchman, you bring up a great point so now I too, must go off topic a little. As you have stated, metallurgy is extremely important and is not exclusive to older firearms. Some modern firearms manufacturers use cheaper materials and production methods in order to compete on price. I guess this is w...

Re: Carry questions- or Resurrecting a dead horse to beat
The revolver in most cases has a hammer block that keeps the hammer from contacting the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled which prevents ADs. Snagging the hammer cannot result in an AD! I have carried my snubby with a round in the chamber under the hammer and it is completely safe. I will only...
