Re: A few targets in pdf

Here is one I stashed away a while ago. It's for refining your aim. The smaller you go the smaller your placement error should be "aim small, miss small".

Re: Man, I see why everyone is changing out their grips!

JT, great point about resetting your grip! I had to do that as well. Buds, thank you, and I think I'll use it as my primary CCW as well. This is a bad idea if you intend on using it as a CCW. There is a common saying "train as you fight"! What are you going to do if you EVER get in a gun ...

Re: Ammo choices: Silver Bear 94 gr HP

This is the exact thread I was looking for. It addresses the Silver Bear 94 gr HP and FIOCCHI 9x18 Police. So locally there are three stores that carry 9x18 Makarov. Two carry FMJ only and one carries the Silver Bear 94 gr HP only. I got my answer on the Silver Bear 94 gr HP; It sucks as a HP (Bad e...

Re: OC vs. CC How do you carry?

OK I hit other for both. Usually if I carry in public, I agree with those of you that said CC. Like boomer said "No need to show your cards". However I will be moving to Arizona shortly, very close to the Coronado mnt range with lots of great parks/trails. For these areas I'll go with an O...

Re: Removing Slide

juniustaylor, Sorry I didn't answer this, it is a 1976 model. I got a chance to grind the Wolff recoil spring on a belt sander at work, the ends are now flat and match the original spring. It now fits the P-64 perfect and the previous symptoms seem to have gone. Norm, No the topic is not originally ...

Re: Removing Slide

juniustaylor, Sorry, those pics were not of my particular P-64, they were ones I found to use as examples of where the wear is. I've removed them to avoid confusion. Here are some from my P-64. It has substantial holster wear on the finish so I suspect the culprit of the internal wear is years of th...

Re: Removing Slide

juniustaylor, After you said this I went back and examined those two parts. It seems the both do have some ware. It's odd how one problem could cause a future problem to arise. If I had never put the un-ground spring on I would have never seen the problem. As it functions flawlessly with the recoil ...

Re: Removing Slide

Did you change out the firing pin spring with the extra power one that comes with the recoil spring from Wolfe? Did you have the spring on the right way with the narrow end on the barrel facing the breech? 1) Yes I switched the firing pin spring that comes with the Wolff recoil spring. It installed...

Re: Removing Slide

OK I got the slide off, time to take this Wolff spring to the grinder when I go to work on Monday. This is the way I got it off: Trying to do it by hand was just not working so I did the next best thing. I put on a pair of my snug fitting military type shooting gloves. The gloves gave me the extra t...

Re: Removing Slide

New to the forum. I am having this same problem. I managed to get the slide on after switching the stock recoil spring for the Wolff spring. I should have read the board first as it looks as if I needed to grind them first for a better fit. Hopefully I'll be able to get the slide off to remedy this....
