Don't worry, I got it... We had a similar issue with my wife, in which she wanted to live close to the warm sea, and I wanted to keep my guns; the issue was that property in Florida was too expensive for us, California is more expensive and would mean no guns, and we finally settled for a compromise...

I'm not against a threaded barrel Makarov as well, I'll see if I can grab a Mak somewhere when I get paid and will see how it goes after that.

I'm afraid they're following the same path as CZ 52s, Mosin-Nagants, Tokarevs and lots of other great East Bloc guns... The Cold War surplus has dried up, with some of it going to the civilian markets, and a lot of it going to Syria, Libya or the Ukraine.

Of course it has a strong action, the last ditch ones would've blown up in the face of their users if they weren't built like a brick sh*t house.
I really liked the 6.5mm Arisaka I had when I was a teenager and my father taught me to reload, it was a VERY forgiving rifle in terms of handloads.
