Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.
I've got 6 of these milsurp 9x18s and I totally stripped all of them as soon as I got them home. The extractors and firing pin channels need to be thoroughly cleaned and NOT lubed. It's also a good idea to check all the parts for wear.

I guess if you carry with none in the pipe you could always use your P64 as a club. Or you could just leave it at home.

If shooting the P-64 doesn't cause you more than a little pain, you are probably dead.

Re: Magazine pinky extension
I put a floor plate from one of my extra mags in my mini mill and took the pinky extension off. Re: Polishing Feed Ramp & Chamber
I use Flitz with a bullet shaped Dremel cone and a light touch on all my feed ramps. Nothing but good results. No offense to the OP but I think he might have gone a little overboard removing material at the transition between the feed ramp and chamber.

Re: Is concealed carry safe with one in chamber and safety on shoot?
The double action trigger pull on the P64 is so atrocious that you could carry in your pocket, safety off, with a round in the chamber and never worry about it. No way in hell you're going to pull the trigger accidentally.

Re: J&G sales and Classic firearms feedback
In the last few months I've bought a P64, a CZ82 and a Bulgarian Makarov from Classic. I paid extra for hand picked each time. I am more than happy with all 3 of them. They shipped fast and were in beautiful condition. I've also bought in the past from J&G. I would recommend them to anyone, they...

It didn't fail, it was still operating correctly. I noticed it when I changed to a 19# hammer spring.

P64 Hammer Strut
Is this a common problem? I take it these parts aren't hardened.
I've already replaced it, maybe it needs some grease on it.
