Re: Recoil pain. Am I holding it wrong?
If you honestly think that these two pistols meet the above criteria for the definition of "similar" then we disagree on more than just a single word. I feel that our knowledge base of firearms is so different that we will not agree. Since the properties of the two guns are not in dispute...

Re: Recoil pain. Am I holding it wrong?
Weasel, Ok, I'll put it this way, if you put one on top of the other they are very close to the same size and shape. They are about the same weight. I can use the same molded owb holster for both. i.e "similar". Not the same. I understand your point that they function completely differentl...

Re: Recoil pain. Am I holding it wrong?
Weasel640, you make good points concerning the SCCY vs the P64, I had never considered that. I just noticed that very similar guns have very different recoils. I had just put it down to grip geometry.

Re: Recoil pain. Am I holding it wrong?
An almost identical size (a bit wider), weight, barrel length gun is the SCCY CPX2, which is 9mm. The P64 is a LOT more uncomfortable to shoot than the SCCY, even though the SCCY is a slightly more powerful cartridge. I think is just the geometry of the P64.

This is my holster for concealed carry of my P64.
Nothing fancy, but it works.

Re: I'm back in the owner's club
Hmm, I would have sworn I posted something here a couple days ago, but it's not here now. In any case, I took my new P64 immediately to the range (literally immediately, left gun store and drove to range). It functioned flawlessly with brass and steel case ammo. The double action trigger was horrend...

I'm back in the owner's club
Well, a week or so ago I traded my P64 (1974 in great condition) with holster to a guy for a new-in-the-box, never fired, Pietta 1873 .45 colt single action revolver. That's a $400 gun in the local gun stores, so I thought it was a good deal. But that left me without a P64. So yesterday at one of th...

Re: Don't change the springs.
I carry my Taurus 738 with a loaded chamber, and I carried my SCCY cpx2 with a loaded chamber, and neither of those even has an external safety. They are intended to be carried with one in the chamber and no safety. So carrying my P64 with one in the chamber and safety off is the same thing. There ...

Re: Don't change the springs.
I can''t imagine carrying it with a chamber loaded and the safety off. That would just be asking for an accident. Just keep the safety on and learn how to swipe it off if you draw the pistol. I carry my Taurus 738 with a loaded chamber, and I carried my SCCY cpx2 with a loaded chamber, and neither ...

Re: Increased magazine capacity
Seems like more work than it's worth to just add one round to the magazine. Just my opinion. If having more than 6 rounds was that important to me I would have bought a different pistol.

Re: A poll of sorts...
Foxtail I was interested in the SCCY a few years ago. But after following the SCCY forum for many months there appeared to be reoccurring problems with pins backing out along with other things. It was a crap shoot, you could get a "good" one and never have problems , if you got a "ba...

Re: Official Polish Military P-64 Field Manual rev. 1985
I wouldn't even try an online translator for something like this. I found the illustrations of one-handed firing interesting...who would do that these days? Wspaniały podręcznik, prawda? I would. I practice one hand shooting all the time. You can't be sure that you'll have 2 hands available all the...
