Re: P-64 Magazine
I found that if you're unwilling to mod your mags, just load five rounds and things should be good.

Re: Alternative to safes?
I use a surplus 50 cal metal ammo can. Easily portable and common as dirt. The hasp can accept a padlock. Chain through the handle and around the immovable object of choice; then padlock. Makes a racket when you move it, so there's a built-in alarm. Separate the stored pistols with old socks or simi...

:( has anyone had this happen and if so any ideas what would have caused it?A451090B-F71E-48E3-9BC2-8C2294179129.jpeg Yup, as others have said, it burst at the portion of the chamber that is not supported due to the feed ramp. However more information would be very useful. What band ammo was this? ...

Re: New to P64s and jazzed!
I would like to have one Curly, but living in Marylandistan, a special license is required to buy "regulated firearms"(handguns) which the state uses as a handgun registry. Being a freedom loving patriot, I refuse to comply so I can only purchase C&R handguns for now. In a few more ye...

Re: Any advice on loading the 7.62X25 for my Tokarev's
Here are my go-to loads:
(all using new Starline brass, CCI primers and 5.6 gr of HP-38):
85 gr. PPU JHP: good; fairly accurate
100 gr Hornady SJ: Surprisingly accurate and mild recoil.

Try loading five rounds instead of six. Cured the stovepiping for me.

Re: slide peening
I found that loading five rounds at a time instead of six solves the stovepipe problem. There are threads here that discuss the problem; it has to do with the feed lip dimensions of "new" vs, "old" magazines.

Re: PPU bulged cases.
I've been shooting PPU for some time. Every once in a while expect to get a hot load. I've found Red Army is good and consistent, as is Academy's Monarch. If you want to reload, Starline makes Makarov brass for your 9x18, and Missouri Bullets sells a Spetsnaz 95 gr bullet. I also found coated bullet...
