Re: Which Spring is best? 17#, 18#, 19#, 20#??
Just a warning, if your new recoil spring has so much tension that you have a difficult time getting the slide on the slide rails, guide it back over the barrel and do not let it slam back onto the breech/barrel if possible. If you do not, the extractor will really do a number on your breech. My bre...

Re: Which Spring is best? 17#, 18#, 19#, 20#??
Just got back from the range using a P-64 built in 1969 (round hammer) that had a 22lb Recoil Spring (Wolff) and 18lb Hammer Spring (Wolff) installed and had no issues whatsoever. The firing pin spring was the original that came with the gun. NOTE: I sanded each end of the 22lb Recoil Spring flat by...

Re: Carrying P64 w/ 1 in the Chamber, Hammer Dropped, Safety
Good advice in this thread, thank you. At the range today I pulled the hammer back and then decocked with a round in the chamber (repeated 10x). The gun did not fire each time. Then I tried to pull the trigger with the safety on and the gun did not fire (repeated 10x). It appears that the pistol is ...

Re: Silver Bear 94 gr FMJ "Sparks" When Shot?
Well, I went back to the range and tried a new ammo, Brass cased Sellier & Bellot 95 gr. This time there were no noticeable sparks flying out of the gun but every single round "keyholed" and left the exact same imprint on the paper. There was no variation such as sideways or angled imp...

Silver Bear 94 gr FMJ "Sparks" When Shot?
Hi, so I've only shot Silver Bear 94 gr FMJ out of a P-64 and I've noticed that sparks shoot out of the gun when it's shot. Is this normal with Silver Bear ammo? I haven't been able to shoot other ammo out of the gun yet to compare. Is it possible there is something wrong with the gun? All the cosmo...

What is the difference between Old Style & New Style Mags?
Hi, what is the difference between "Old Style" and "New Style" P-64 magazines? Which one should be purchased for a P-64 made in 1969? Just to be clear, they are original factory magazines made in Poland and not newly manufactured ones made by someone else.

Carrying P64 w/ 1 in the Chamber, Hammer Dropped, Safety On
Assuming the P-64 is in proper working order, is it safe to carry the P64 with a round in the chamber, hammer dropped, and the safety on? I understand that the pistol is not drop safe.
Thanks
