Re: Classic has em cheap!

I paid extra when I sent it in and got a real nice one. I'm just not home to clean it, inspect it, and fire it.

Re: Classic has em cheap!

All right gents...I just tested the pencil. It flew 8-10 feet. That was actually kind of fun. The firing pin obviously protrudes. It did move fairly easily when manually pushing on the FP thru the safety prong thingys. Now that you mention not going into battery, that could have been the issue. You ...

Re: Classic has em cheap!

Not trying to be a smarta** here, but did you try what Ketchman said? The pencil in the barrel will let you know if the firing pin is striking whatever is in the chamber area. Saying "My gun won't fire" is kinda broad. Did you pull the trigger, do you have a round loaded? See those are RE...

Re: Classic has em cheap!

I took the trigger assembly apart last night and it was clean. The firing pin mechanisms looks clean as well, but I can't find great instructions on taking that part apart yet and haven't tried it yet. I have pushed on the firing pin and it seems to free of cosmoline, since it moves relatively easil...

Re: Classic has em cheap!

I'll read thru that, but the beginning was talking about cosmo. My pistol came really clean. I took the slide off and the mechanical were oiled, but appear cosmoline free...so I didn't take it apart aside from the slide. I sent an email to Classic to see what they recommend. I don't want to hold ont...

Re: Classic has em cheap!

Well...took it to the range, but couldn't get it to fire. Don't know why.

Re: Classic has em cheap!

It's much better than I was thinking...I think I'll keep it original. Maybe lighten the trigger pull, if anything. That first pull is a beast.

Re: Classic has em cheap!

My lovely wife went and picked it up at the post office today. I'm extremely pleased. All seems to match. The "bidding" was minimal near the import markings...which also looks about normal. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07/20/da022c79fe3537d037d2b309c8ffbfcf.jpg http://images.tapatalk-...

Re: Classic has em cheap!

I need to have the gun in front of me when reading these instructions. Too bad I missed the USPS person today. I was expecting it on Monday, but checked the status at 1230 on my phone while out at lunch with my family, and saw that they attempted to deliver it at 1205. Now I have to wait til Monday....

Re: Classic has em cheap!

What areas of the safety lever do you file to get it to work smoother? Like Curly said, the actual detent piece is bullet shaped. I sand the tip off some to make it a bit more round (and hence thicker). I've also been 1) filing the flat space between the two detent grooves (where the detent "b...

Re: Classic has em cheap!

... I'm cool with trying to buff or polish the imperfections out. I'm also good with an ugly gun if it's got good, honest wear and tear. We'll see. Well, mine was more than "imperfections." It looked like it had set in water for some time. BIG splotches of brown in the otherwise dark blue...

Re: Classic has em cheap!

I just got an email from Classic that my order has a shipping label and tracking info. I ordered it yesterday afternoon. They are on top of things. Man, I'm anxious to see what I get.
