Re: Marschal Grips?

Does no one here post pics? Let’s see the grips Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Finally finished my FEG AP22 project. Just received my grips several days ago. When I ordered them last summer, I emailed him about the actual location of the thumb rest. He answered me the same day. https://i269.pho...

Finally finished my FEG AP22 project. https://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj42/bmwjoey/IMG_0941.jpg Hungarian Marschal grips for a gun made in Hungary. Re: My P64 does have a hammer block

OK, so here is the deal. I was able to duplicate this "AD" syndrome with my P-64 this afternoon at the range. I put one live round in the chamber, emptied the mag, pulled the hammer back several times, and the round eventually fired without touching the trigger. I could only get it to fire...

Re: My P64 does have a hammer block

The rebounding hammer block is not visible from the top, it's a notch on the bottom of they hammer inside the frame . I agree. What I thought was some type of hammer block system (as illustrated by gemini1) is, I believe, part of the disconnect system. I looked several times at this and can't reall...

Re: My P64 does have a hammer block

I was just browsing the "Modification, fixes, and repair" section and noticed this post from our esteemed Norm Sutton: at http://www.p64resource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3458 [quote="normsutton"]gloob I make them myself , the hammer on the P-64 will not hit the firing pi...

Re: My P64 does have a hammer block

You are correct. I feel that if I try to smooth it up a bit (ie., make it easier to use) I may develop the "dropping safety" syndrome where it drops while shooting and the hammer simply rides the slide back to the non-cocked position (a lot of stuff about this problem on the Walther forum)...

Re: My P64 does have a hammer block

I was just thinking after my last post, I think I am in error and the writer of that manual is correct (it was not a typo when the word "block" was used concerning the firing pin safety feature). When you rotate the slide safety mechanism to safe (red dot not showing/lever in the down posi...

Re: My P64 does have a hammer block

Just found a manual for the P-64 at: http://www.tnguns.com/shop/manuals/P64manual.pdf On page 5 there is a list of data entitled: TECHNICAL DATA OF PISTOL AND CARTRIDGE Next to an item entitled "safeties" is printed: Manual: trigger bar block, firing pin block, loaded chamber indicator 6 r...

Re: My P64 does have a hammer block

Oh, and one more comment. Please refer to the photo's I posted in my OP. I am talking about a hammer block in the frame located just in front of the hammer, not the firing pin lock that is only activated when the slide mounted safety lever/drum assembly is put on safe.

Re: My P64 does have a hammer block

I can confirm that a '76 also has the rebounding hammer. Unless the hammer is cocked all the way back (at which point the only way to release it is to pull the trigger, or perhaps drop it while the hammer is fully cocked), the hammer is blocked from striking the firing pin. Visually I can see this ...

Re: My P64 does have a hammer block

Trooper Joe, Did you mean a firing pin safety? Because if I am correct the P-64 has a hammer block safety (which blocks the hammer when it is dropped from the cocked position) but does NOT have a firing pin safety which blocks the firing pin from forward movement unless the trigger has been pulled ...

Re: My P64 does have a hammer block

Trooper Joe, All P-64's have a hammer block safety. It operates when the safety is applied when the hammer is a the full cock position and drops the hammer to the at rest position. But, like all mechanical devices it may at some point fail allowing a hammer that has been pulled back from the at res...

My P64 does have a hammer block

I was just browsing the forum and came across this concern about the hammer being partially pulled back due to a snag or other cause, then firing the gun/ http://www.p64resource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4378&p=42642&hilit=floor+safety#p42642 I am a little confused since it does appe...

Another great range day with my P64

I've posted twice about the P64 I got from J&G. Went to the range today to try out some new Hornady ammo in my P64. I also had several other handguns I wanted to try with some new magazines and ammo. I posted before that I have had good luck with Hornady Critical Defense 9x18 amo. Today I tried ...
