Re: Major Problems - All Advice Welcome
FINALLY!!! Polishing the feed ramp seems to have done the trick. A month ago I had success emptying a few mags with no hitch. Today I took along five mags loaded with 5 rounds each. Not a single FTF, double-feed or FTE. I was impressed again at how accurate it was for its size (and my old eyes). It'...

Re: Small frame inaccurate shooters
Both the Keltec P-32 and the Beretta Tomcat had frame cracking problems. Allegedly fixed in later and inox models. I own two FEGs (32 and Mak) and they are both smooth shooting, accurate guns. Now that the P64s have caught on, I think the FEGs are the best buy guns out there right now. My P64 is one...

Re: breech extractor wear
I'd fill it in with JB weld and file it back to flush, rarther than file it down any more.

Re: Plum Slide
Mine is plum as well. I think the standard black grips look good but if I were going custom, I'd take a pic of the gun and play around with the colors of the grips in Photoshop or some other image program. That way you can see exactly what it will look like before committing.

Re: Major Problems - All Advice Welcome
Hey Curly1! After a followup test shoot I can happily confirm that I have a totally reliable P-64. Emptied two full mags with zero FTFs or jams of any kind. The third mag I tried is faulty. I'll keep tweaking the feed lips and maybe replace the mag spring. I have a few other mags I have yet to test....

Re: Major Problems - All Advice Welcome
Hey Curly! Happy to report that for the first time ever I managed to empty all six shots from a mag without a single FTF. It was my first trip to the range after polishing the feed ramp with my dremel and cleaning it again with gunblaster. I still had a slight problem with one of the three mags I ha...

Re: Polishing Feed Ramp & Chamber
Thanks, Curly. It looks clean. But I will try the brass brush trick.
And snailman, the rounds are definitely Mak. I'm not (quite) that stupid.

Re: CZ 82 question
If anyone has a CZ-82 with chipped paint and doesn't want to do a complete new finish, I've found that Rust-O-leum's American Accents Paint Pen is great for touching it up. The paint blends perfectly and is easy to apply. Just be sure to shake the pen well until the felt tip is saturated, then dab g...

Re: Polishing Feed Ramp & Chamber
I'm still trying to figure out my feed problems and apprecaite the help from all you kind folks. I look forward to the day I can report that my little gun is healthy. Meanwhile, I've discovered that my gun's problem may be with the chamber. I've posted a pic showing how far the unfired bullet casing...

Re: Major Problems - All Advice Welcome
Hi Curly! It jammed with the Winchester ammo. The problem seems to be the top of the magazine sitting too high in the gun. Because it jammed on the very first shot I didn't try the other mags I had on hand. I didn't have time to break the gun down at the range to clear it. I'll try it again this wee...

[img] Uploaded with ImageShack.us [/img] Hey guys! I've been extremely busy with work for the past four months (published my first novel) but finally took a break and went to the gun range with my P64. This was after cleaning it extremely well...

Re: Ammo Comparisons
I know it's an old thread but new owners might be looking for this info.
My P-64 jams a lot with Silver Bear and Sellier & Bellott but does great with Winchester. All FMJ.
I think my gun is just tight and might loosen up with some work, but I'm sticking with Winchester.

Re: Major Problems - All Advice Welcome
What brand of ammo are you using and is it FMJ or JHP? Hey Curly, I just hit the range again today. I had the earlier jams with Silver Bear FMJ. Today I tried Seller & Bellot and Winchester white box which is a little more expensive. The S&B performed exactly like the Silver Bear, jamming a...

Re: Best source for 9x18 Bullets
I've found ammunitiontogo.com has the best prices on good quality ammo, a little better than Midway. But it depends on the amount you're ordering, because shipping charges might offset the savings on smaller quantities. Also, Midway ships faster. On a side note, I had jams with both Silver Bear and ...

Re: Crossbreed
I've heard that leather contains tanning acids that eat pits into guns if they're stored for long periods in the holster.
Anyone know if that's true for modern made holsters or maybe just vintage ones?
