Re: Trigger Guard Pivot Pin Broke

Gunbroker deactivated my account and is trying to charge me $10.50 in "late" fees over a $2 "verification" charge I supposedly owe them when I signed up in 2012. I contacted them about waiving the fee's and I would pay their bogus "verification" charge (my account was n...

Trigger Guard Pivot Pin Broke

Hello, I was firing my 74 P-64 at the range and while shooting I thought I saw something fall off the gun so I stopped and looked. Everything seemed normal so I continued to fire but on the next shot the trigger guard fell off into my range bag. It seems like the pin which the trigger guard pivots o...

Re: P64 vs PF9

Thanks for the side by side comparison, it was well written and informative. I carry the P-64 as my primary CCW and have been trying to get my hands on a PF-9 for many of the reasons you stated in your post, but those things are really hard to come by. I have NEVER seen one in any gun shops here in ...

Re: Chambering a round

I always chamber a round with the safety/ decocker in the SAFE/ON position. there is a manual firing pin block on the safety that catches the hammer and prevents it from moving foward. I just rack the slide and let the recoil spring take it home and the decocker do its job. I also use the firearm fo...

Re: I got shot by my P64 yesterday...

When you replaced the Main Spring did you also replace the firing pin spring? I know my Wolf spring calibration pack for the P-64 also came with firing pin springs which (if i remember correctly) were longer than the original. Either way it seems like you had a perfect storm scenario for the weapon ...

Re: I got shot by my P64 yesterday...

Sorry to hear about your accident, glad it wasn't worse. I thought the P-64 had a automatic safety built into the sear that won't let the hammer move forward without the trigger being pulled. Your story got me thinking, so I just checked my P-64 and my hammer will not move forward unless the trigger...

Re: Best BB guns for christmas.

Depends on the age of the recipient, but the .17 caliber spring/ piston fired pellet guns are pretty awesome. They are dead accurate out to 25-30 yards with a scope and cheap to shoot. I wouldn't give one to a young child though unless they have been taught proper handling of firearms because they p...

Re: I decided NOT to change the springs and why.

I use the 18# Hammer and 20# Recoil spring in my p-64. Carry it 6+1 SilverBear JHP's with safety off. If not in a holster that covers the trigger (like a cargo pocket) the safety's on. I don't expect a bad guy to wait for me to rack the slide. As a good guy with a ccw, we are always Re-acting to a t...

Re: P-64 vs cz82 recoil

I've shot both back to back, and with upgraded wolf recoil springs in them... 16.5 lb in the cz and 20 lb in the p-64. The cz, with more mass, has less felt recoil than the p-64. But I don't understand why people say the p-64 is painful/ not fun to shoot because of recoil. I find the p-64 plenty of ...

Re: Where do you buy your 9x18 ammo and what do you like bes

I haven't shot much Silver Bear, but have you noticed a difference between Silver Bear and Brown Bear FMJ ammo? I did notice the Silver Bear JHP shot much cleaner than the Brown Bear FMJ, but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra money to upgrade from Brown Bear to Silver Bear FMJ.

[/...

Re: Where do you buy your 9x18 ammo and what do you like bes

I like shooting the SilverBear 94 gr FMJ for practice and carry the SilverBear 94 gr JHP after it impressed me with some wetpack testing. I video taped some tests, you can find the link in the FMJ vs. JHP thread here. BrownBear is a little dirtier and the laquer cases can lead to problems without th...

Re: ball or jhp

I read about not using the p-64 with some of the hotter ammo on here, and other places, so I shot an email over to Buffalo Bore and asked them about using the 115 gr load out now in the gun, and also when the +p jhp will be available. They responded with this: "I see no reason why you cannot us...

Re: ball or jhp

I've been carrying FMJ but think I'm going to go with the SilverBear JHP's. I tested some in wetpack and it seems to out-penetrate the hornady xtp's and is much cheaper and more easily available. Check out a couple videos I made here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LY5IFZib9g http://www.youtube.com/...

I Need a Trigger Return Spring for P-64

I went and picked up my "new" 1974 p-64 today from the local ffl. He ordered 2, the other was a 1968 that had a better trigger, but looked much more beat up (especially the grips). The '74 DA trigger was impossible to pull, no joking. I only got the hammer to drop once while dry firing and...
