Re: Which gun is the closest fit to a P-64?
The SG3 was tight but usable on mine. I put it on my dash with the gun in it. That helped.

Re: Derringer trigger pull
Not that a derringer is a great sd gun, othr than a bug, but with adrenline flowing, I bet that trigger wouldn't create too much of a problem.

Re: Derringer trigger pull
I lightened the trigger pull on mine by cutting off about 5 loops from the main spring... Don't do that! Created light primer strikes and poor ignition. Did decrease the trigger pull, though. I would advise making your finger stronger! BTW, replacement parts are easy to order from Cobra.

I'd remove the rivet/screw then put in a tack stitch in the appropriate place.

Re: Backup?
I just ordered one of these for a "left hand gun." In case right is busy or incapacitated. Also bought a box of .410 federal defense buckshot for it. I am planning on carrying it in some sort of a knife case on my left side belt. We'll see. It's only $75, so I think it's worth a try! :D ht...

Re: ball or jhp
For the time being, lead cast (4 gr unique).
May switch to silver bear hp tho when I get some. Problem is, if HP doesn't expand, you'll get fmj like penetration, if it does you'll get less penetration, but the expansion.
I am considering staggering them....

The transfer fee IS profit. Check with another ffl, or get your c&r. It'll pay for itself even if you only use it this once.

Re: recoil pain
Sounds good! I think I'll try some biking gloves I have to get rid of the rub when I shoot. I am resisting the slip on grips because I pocket carry and don't want the extra bulk.

Re: recoil pain
Shuga, I get a little rub on the web between my forefinger and my thumb due to "beefy" hands. If it's hitting the lower knuckle of you thumb, looks to my like you might want to grip it a little deeper. That knuckle shouldn't be behind the slide, but to the side (like 7 or 8 o'clock) of it....
