Re: Bore Snake for 9 x 18 P64
I just use a .38 boresnake on it. I put a bit of solvent on the head, run it through 2-4 times, and that's it. All done. I don't worry too much about the bolt face area. If it looks like it needs it, I clean it. Otherwise, I leave it be.

Re: Birchwood Casey® Presto® Gun Blue Pen
It works okay, although it tends to rub off, and won't match the original finish. Good for some things, not good for most things.

Re: Marschal grips???
Just ordered a set of black walnut grips for myself and my father's P-64's. His will be his Father's Day present. I was considering doing red shellac walnut on mine like I did with my Makarov grips, but decided these guns just look better all black.

Re: problems with Sellier & Bellot ammo
Just put another box of S&B through my P-64. No problems whatsoever. Very good, very accurate ammo.

Re: Favorite/worst 9x18 ammo
Just put probably 50 more rounds of S&B ammo through my P-64, with no hiccups. Was able to get a vertical string of shots touching during rapid fire at 20 feet on more than one occasion.

Re: problems with Sellier & Bellot ammo
S&B ammo seems to run a lot better in my P-64 than Silver Bear. I had some slide closure problems with Silver Bear; the extractor sometimes didn't want to go over the rim, leaving the slide slightly out of battery (I'm running a Wolff 22-pound recoil spring, so a weak spring isn't the issue). Ne...

Re: Cracked Marschal Grips
Well, that seals my decision to get the short version of the P-64 grips as soon as I can afford them. I kind of thought the unsupported edge was a bad idea, and would make releasing the magazine tougher. That last picture pretty much confirms what I was thinking. The original grips are actually fair...

Re: walther ppk hammer spring on a p-64?
Your jams are probably related to the hammer spring, which acts to delay the blowback slightly and provide additional resistance. Chances are the casing is striking the ejector too violently, resulting in it spinning erratically and jamming in the action. It's a similar malfunction to what causes a ...

Re: Help... My Slide Won't Come Off!
Mine was problematic at first, although now it doesn't do much more than make it a #!%% to reassemble. Once it breaks in properly it will be easier.

I don't know anything about SOG, but you can deal with confidence with J&G.

Re: Aftermarket extended P-64 magazine release?
First, have you put a spring kit in your gun? The hammer spring is also the mag latch spring. Putting the 18-pound hammer spring in the gun will also make removing the magazines easier. Second, the grips are somewhat adjustable. Loosen them up and see if you can get them to align better.

Re: Question on J&G guns
I personally drove to J&G Sales and picked out my P-64 (benefit of being only 80 miles from Prescott). Great store, great people. I got the spring kits at the same time. Fed a couple of mags of S&B ammo through it with no hiccups. Need to hit the outdoor range so I can dump my Silver Bear th...

Re: PPK/S Comparison
Longboat, get a Makarov holster. The P-64 is essentially a cross between the PPK and the Makarov. Some of its dimensions are closer to a Makarov than a PPK.

Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO
My father and I recently purchased twin P-64's. J&G Sales had them, and since we're in Phoenix we just drove up to Prescott to check them out. My father had been looking for a concealed carry piece for a while, and I'd been trying to convince him to get a P-64 because it was small, inexpensive, ...
