Re: OC vs. CC How do you carry?

OK I hit other for both. Usually if I carry in public, I agree with those of you that said CC. Like boomer said "No need to show your cards". However I will be moving to Arizona shortly, very close to the Coronado mnt range with lots of great parks/trails. For these areas I'll go with an ...

Re: Removing Slide

I my book, I would not even shoot a Mil Surplus pistol that looked that nasty on the inside until I stipped, cleaned, polished and inspected every part for metal integrity first.

That just my way of doing things though!

Re: I purchased a P-64 in excellent condition.

Brownells Oxpho Blue and 0000 steel wool and with patients you will have a thing of beauty. I totally strip the P 64 and bead blast all the parts then I put them all on a buffer then 1500 wet and dry paper. Once everything is polished like glass, then they hit the blue tank. When I get them back tog...

Re: Best solvent/cleaner for bore?

I would advise against it. The chrome lined barrel does not need anything ammonia based or that strong. In it's day when we used lead only bullets, Hoppes was great for cleaning lead deposits out of steel bores. Most modern ammunition is now jacketed so there is just about zero lead build up. Factor...

Re: 22 pound recoil spring.

Just be careful. If you start getting FTF ot FTE that spring maybe too much for the gun to cycle properly. The heavy spring will also effect timing and increase the limp wristing possibility with one hand use. You should also swap out the firing pin spring with the extra power one that Wolffe sends ...

Re: OC vs. CC How do you carry?

I don't leave home without one. Better to have it and not need it, than too need it and not have it. I also like the suprise factor so I never open carry. No need to show your cards in my book. I normally carry a Glock 26 OWB in a De Santis Mini Scabbard Holster and under a shirt in the summer and a...

I sure don't love the memories or the stink of drainage ditches that ran right thought he middle of the villages. I never seen people live like that before.

Re: Gun Blueing With Airbrush

I don't think spaying a corrosive acid in a air brush is a good idea. Cold Blueing can be done real easy with with 4 or five applications and a polish with 0000 steel wool between coats. if you prep the metal with 800 o5 1500 wet/dry sand paper it will come out like glass.

Re: Blowback operation

I would have to say that the bullet would have already left the barrel before much recoil spring action is going on. The bullet is unobstructed and the slide travel in the opposite direction is buffered by the spring. The bodies in motion are not equal in mass or number. That's my two cents for what...

Re: Hello, and mod question

Yeah That's the one!....My Daughter just got a Lexus this year, my college dollars hard at work, and I refuse to ride in it. I told her that I hate cheated death a few times in the past and didn't feel like I should push my luck any more!
