Re: Made a parts gun this weekend...
Is the slide still stuck? There is a way of drilling out the barrel so that you can save the slide. If the budge is not too bad you may be able to lightly hammer the slide back so that you can remove it. Little hammer work got the slide off. Don't think replacing the barrel is a ideal solution. Wil...

Made a parts gun this weekend...
Was using Silver Bear HP ammo, fired 5 rounds and heard a light pop, did a quick look, but didn't see anything in the way and fired the last round. Slide would NOT reset back, spent a good 20 minutes messing around with it trying to figure out what got jammed. Was the barrel bulging into the frame, ...

Re: Cracked Marschal Grips
Greetings All! Sorry for the silence from my side. I'm sorry for the broken grips -- again. They're about the sixth variant of the original p64 grips and still not good )-: tiber1: Could you please explain (with pictures) where you had to dremel down the inside of grips? Please send the pics to my ...

Re: Cracked Marschal Grips
I noticed on mine that I had to dremel a bit off the inside of the grip where the hammer was hitting it when fully cocked. I wonder if that is what broke yours? Would have been right about at the base of the beavertail too.

Re: Cracked Marschal Grips
I got mine a couple weeks ago, they look and feel great! Unfortunately, both grips had the beaver tail shatter off on the first shot I fired. I sent details and images to Marschal's a little more than a week ago, but no response yet. Not had a chance to use mine yet... weather and life have gotten ...

Re: Cracked Marschal Grips
I came home today and found a package from Hungary waiting for me!!!! Dennis is the best. Amazing work as always. New grip is a bit meatier then the old one, but still gorgeous and should help prevent some of the bite I get from the Slide when shooting.

Re: Silver Bear 94gr HP
Nothing too exciting to report, but I finally had a chance to shoot a few mags of the Silver Bear 94gr HP ammo in my P-64, P-83 and Soviet PM. As a reminder, I replaced the P-64's hammer spring with a 17# Wolfe and the remainder on all three pistols are stock. All three pistols shot this ammo witho...

Been happy with my last two guns from them. Shipping from my last toy was $26.20 on a pistol to the Pacific NW.

Re: Safety is failing, any fixes?
Well, on mine, the safety detent had a nub on both ends. If you look at the parts list pictures, it should have a little nub/post on one end and a rounded end on the other. Mine had nubs on both ends and it bound the safety up and made it take two thumbs to move it. I just took a bit of 800 grit san...

Re: I decided NOT to change the springs and why.
I carry my p-64 6+1, safety off and have trained myself to cock the hammer as I draw. I've also practiced a bunch single action. It's my preferred carry piece. I also carry a Glock 19, but I like the smallness of the p-64, I can wear it with shorts and a t shirt, not even needing a belt.

I use the Desantis Nemesis, personally, I think it is awesome. I was carrying last night in a pair of shorts and you couldn't even tell.

Re: Very tight safety on my new P64
On mine, the Safety Detent had that little spring catch nub on both ends. When me and the FFL first took it out of the box, it would take two hands to move the safety. Little work with some 400 grit took care of that and the safety is smooth now.
