Re: Question for SOG customers
Buy with confidence; SOG has been very good to me even though the way they do their website is stupid. I paid something like $25 shipping for one gun but only $28 for two.

Re: Liquidating Guns
Oh yeah, I'm all about caliber consolidation. 9x18 or 9x19 for handguns, 5.56 for rifles.
(But then I also have a 38 special and a 7.62x25, so I ruined myself. )

Oh, ok. I see your post in mods & fixes. Does it occur even when you slingshot the slide hard?

Re: Range Report: First Time Out With P64
Just throwing stuff out there since you asked: 1. insufficient upward tension on trigger bar from trigger spring 2. cosmoline on disconnector or safety or both 3. slide not completely closed in battery 3a. due to cosmoline in chamber? 3b. due to bad or wrong ammunition? Yeah, definitely take the gri...

Re: Won't fire double action.
I figured out the official Polish armorer solution to this issue. My '75 had had it done. I can't get a picture of it, so I drew a picture. This is part #21, the trigger bar, specifically the face of it where it contacts the bottom of the hammer. The black parts indicate where the ledge was dremeled...

Yep. They immediately sent me an RA and told me to keep the holster, as they're out of those now. It took less than a week for the mail to make it from here to there and back.

Here's what they replaced my '68 with. Bam! A '75 with triangle hammer. Time to go de-cosmo.

Re: HELP!
I use a non-official method which you might want to try. In my mind I call it "transfer of control." 1. Hammer down, I hold the gun upside down. Place strut washer and hammer spring on the hammer strut, install in gun, and compress the mag release far enough down for it to catch into the f...

Re: Theoretical Spring Post
I think that most of us go to lighter hammer spring but heavier recoil spring and it probably kinda cancels out.
That said, maybe, and parts are nil, but they're C&R now so buy a few for spares.

Re: Not a good experience with S.O.G.
I bet if you'd cleaned the cosmoline off the disconnecter and safety the gun would work great.
Edited to add: This is SOP for any surplus gun, by the way.

Re: New to the P64, my experience.
I had the same issue with one of my trio of P64s. In double action it'd only go back about 1/3 of the way. My other two will cock back approximately 2/3 of the way in double. I sent that particular one back. We'll see what I get in exchange for it.

Re: Considering getting a P64 for the wife
Here's a picture of PA-63 vs P64 vs LCP. The $300 price range is a tough one. You end up sacrificing on one or more areas. It's like, "reliable / good trigger / cheap, pick two." I actually like the LCP, except women frequently find it hard to rack and the ammo is expensive. Is she going t...

Re: Considering getting a P64 for the wife
Is she recoil-shy? The P64 can be pretty snappy. I don't mind it enough to bother changing the recoil spring though. The only thing required should be a thorough cleaning, assuming you get a good specimen. My first P64 had a good trigger (*as far as P64s go) out of the box, whereas the other two, no...
