Re: FEG PA 63 fails to cock

I stripped that thing all the way down. Everything appears to be okay - it functions the way it's supposed to - I cycled it with snap caps and watched it eject, load and the hammer stayed cocked.

I'll take it back to the range when my SMC 918 arrives.

Thanks for your help.

Re: FEG PA 63 fails to cock

Took the 63 to the range yesterday - it's been sitting in my safe. Darn thing WILL NOT re-cock after the first round - is this now a parts gun?

Re: FEG SMC 918

I only own 1 380 - a Ruger LCP - it's my summer carry. In the fall I'll switch back to my P-64. Out of all the 9x18 handguns I own, my favorite is the P-64 - fits my hand, shoots great and packs a punch.

FEG SMC 918

Just lucked out and won the auction for a SMC 918 on Gunbroker. Nobody bid but me. Gun with 2 mags, original box and papers. Should get it in 4-5 days. I'll keep you posted.

Re: My P64 Bit Me!!!!

Houge Handall Jr @ $5.70 from Sportsmen's Guide (Amazon) has a finger groove. The bike tire works okay but I prefer the finger groove. I buy them 2 at a time - if you don't you'll certainly rip the only one you have when you put it on.

To paraphase Ronald Reagan, "It's amazing what you can accomplish when you don't care who gets the credit". I think success in any endeavor is accomplished through the synergy of a group of folks with a common purpose. I'm just happy not to be the guy going to Indiana - it's too cold. I'll...

p-64 firing pin

Funny - I was just having a conversation this weekend regarding Harrington's interest in making P64 parts - I wondered aloud why they just didn't buy one and use it for modeling new parts. I guess my mother-in-law was right when she said, "Great minds think alike and fools seldom differ".

Belt holsters

I carry mine in the nylon molded holster - inexpensive, feels good, retention strap, contours to your waist - what's not to like?

Tell me this is not crazy!

I get my ammo from "ammo to go". So far it is the cheapest (Silver Bear) I have found. I buy it in 1000 round lots. I own (7) 9x18 handguns. I was at a gun show in Virginia Beach a few weeks ago and one of the vendors had Wolf 9x18 for $25 a box - stupidity knows no bounds.

p-64 firing pin

Went and retrieved my firing pin today. The machine shop decided that the perceived liability issue was not worth the risk. I guess Harrington Products is the most viable option. Sorry I couldn't get this done.

p-64 firing pin

I'm still getting the run around from the machine shop guy - I really think the perceived liability issue is the problem. I have received a favorable response from Harrington Products - they currently manufacture parts for the CZ 52. The owner says he is interested in making P 64 pins - he asked for...

p-64 firing pin

Spoke with the machine shop again this afternoon. His CNC operator gave the pin a quick look and said that it was possible but they had a shop issue with one of their machines - they had a tech rep on site so he could not devote too much time today. They will reengage tomorrow. I will have a yes or ...

Sounds like a good compromise.

Norm - would there be any possibility of "over penetration" using a longer pin in the round hammers?

As far as "tested safe", it was my intent to range test random batch samples at @ 100 rds. Any other comments or is that over kill? (pun intended)
