Re: HERE IS THE ANSWER.
Glad you figured it out so it won't happen again. Are you using the original, non-human 25+ lb trigger spring that comes in the gun? Might you want to put a lower weight spring in for the future if you are? https://www.gunsprings.com/index.cfm?page=items&cID=1&mID=49 Naw, I put in the 18lb ...

HERE IS THE ANSWER.
After I posted that my slide flew off when shooting my P-64 and after reading the answers I now know what happened. With my senior citizen fingers crooked with arthritis I cannot pull the trigger in double action with my ( forefinger-trigger ) finger. As I was pulling the trigger in double action I ...

Re: BAD NEWS_NEED HELP
Curly, I checked the trigger guard and the lug is not broken off. I could not get the slide to come off with the trigger guard up in place and working the slide by hand. Maybe I did not have the guard all the up in place. I dunno. Everything looks like it is the way it designed to be. I will go to t...

BAD NEWS_NEED HELP
Fellow P-64 owners. I have had my P-64 for 4 or 5 years and have shot it about 100 times. This gun was purchased from J&G and is in excellent cond. Today my wife and I went to my local gun club to shoot a few rounds and get my wife to shoot some rounds from her 32. Beretta. After firing about 20...

Bought some ammo.
Found some ammo on line for what I consider a good price. Wideners shooting supply. Forty bucks plus shipping for 150 rounds . This the first I have found ammo on line since all the hoarding began, although I am guilty as anyone as for buying more than I need. Well, now I am ready to go to the guncl...

Re: 18,19 0r 20
Well, from the experience with my pistol I had installed the 18lb spring and I am pleased the way the trigger is in single and double action. I will add that I would not want it any lighter. As some members have stated that the mag falls out after the last shot if they have the 17lb spring installed...

Re: double action trigger weight.
I must chime in a little on this subject. I have changed my hammer spring to 18 lbs and the trigger in single and double action is just fine. My safety worked a little too hard and when I took it apart the spring and detent rod were put in backwards. I changed that and it works easier. The bluing on...

Question on the assembly of the saftey?
Gentlemen, Today my neighbor and I took apart my P-64 to see why the safety worked so hard. We determined that the spring was in wrong. The spring was facing the barrel of the safety. I thought the pin should face the barrel so it would go into the detents on the safety. That is the way we reassembl...

Re: first time to range
Question? If you put on a 22 lb. recoil spring in the gun, how hard is it to rack the slide compared to the factory spring?

Re: How to choose hammer spring strength?
I also went with the 18lb hammer spring and I am pleased with the result, I was afraid of the 17 lb spring when some members reported the magazine dropping out when empty. My gun is now just fine for me.
