Dry firing your P-64

I guess it's kind of late to ask now that I've already dry fired it hundreds of times, but is there any cause for worry? Do I really need to use snap caps? If so, which ones do you prefer?

thanks

General cleaning and lubrication

Is there a sticky thread or some instructions somewhere online that show you exactly where you need to clean and lubricate? I've only cleaned my P-64 once or twice in about 400 rounds or so, only had 1 or 2 failures, but I'd like to do it right. Where should you and shouldn't you lubricate? Tips app...

Re: Which gun is the closest fit to a P-64?

The Bersa is further off than the PPK. That rivet ticks me off because it's a way out (and thus cost effective) of stitching the bottom of the holster to actually 'fit' the gun. Get a holster made for the P64. Yeah, I think I'm actually going to give up on the shoulder holster from Galco. I'm actua...

Which gun is the closest fit to a P-64?

My Galco Classic Lite arrived yesterday. It is Model CL204 (RH), designed for a Walther PPK. Unfortunately, as you can see from the picture, the trigger guard on the P-64 protrudes too much so that I can't insert the pistol far enough in to snap the closure. http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x163/m...

Re: FEG R61?

dgposton every once in a while one will show up , FEG has not made that gun for years, they went to the steel frame BR-61, and seeing FEG may or may not be in business any more, they are rare BR-61 on the left , P-64 on right http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g198/NORMSUTTON/P-64/627f0670.jpg NORM ...

Shoulder holsters?

What's the word on shoulder holster options? Would something like the Galco classic lite for the PPK fit the P-64?

FEG R61?

Any word on the FEG R61? Heard it might be smaller and lighter yet than the P64 (which I love), and also in the 9x18 Mak chambering.

Holster

even better than the pancake because of size.
Why not the number 18, made for the PPK?

Belt holsters

Is Tagua any good? I ran across one today at the local gun range. They have one designed for the PPK, I think.

Belt holsters

I know this topic has probably been covered many times, but... What are my options for outside the waistband belt carry? I know Dick Funk is making some nice ones, but I checked the site and there is a 14 week wait period. Also, I'm not sure I want a holster that is custom made and hence non-returna...

Romanian TTC Tokarev pistol

Can someone comment on these? I noticed that there are good deals out there on these guns. Also, ammo is CHEAP. They look kind of weird, but have that Eastern Bloc / Soviet nostalgia to them. Does the 7.62 x 25 round have a lot of recoil? Is the gun reliable and accurate? If there is a forum dedicat...

Just got my P-64!

dgposton most of the guts on this forum don't even use the safety when they carry the P-64 , if you want the safety to be easy you are going to have to take it apart and clean it , there are several threads on this you are going to have to look for them, or you can download this http://www.p64resou...

Proper way to clean and lubricate my P-64

OK, I just downloaded and read through the P-64 manual. I have it field stripped and have a few questions on how to clean and lubricate it. The manual says to: "Wipe pistol components and magazine thoroughly with a clean cloth. Swab the bore with cleaning solvent, followed by dry patches..Light...

Just got my P-64!

Are the safeties always so stiff or did I get a bad one? Given the stiffness of the safety, my plan is to carry it with the safety off and no round in the chamber. When the BG shows up, all I have to do is rack the slide to put it in single action mode. Forget double action altogether. I'm wondering...

Just got my P-64!

Pics to follow... OK, I just picked up my P-64 yesterday and I already have questions... 1) I tried replacing the recoil spring with a Wolff #20, but it didn't seem as smooth as the stock spring. Are you sure the ends don't need to be flat? The spring fits in fine, and I got it reassembled properly,...
