changing PA-63 springs
tman11787- I also did the spring swap in my PA-63. Though I did not have the Norm advice of not having to switch out the firing pin spring. I wish I had, that was the worst part. Switching the springs made a world of difference to me. I love it. I do not consider myself to be very mechanically incli...

mirother- All I know about the Glazers is basically what jbabbler has said. My house is set up with the master bedroom and nursery is upstairs where my wife and 15 month old sleep. I also have 2 biscuit-eaters, a very protective yellow lab and a loud barking 50 lb mutt. Being an avid hunter and cons...

Hello All-
2 questions-
One- How does the Corbon Powerball shoot out of a PA-63 (i.e. can it)?
Two- Where can I find powerball? I have looked at a couple of sites and can't find it, but I may not be looking in the right places.
Thanks- Mark

Hey Robert- Apologies for being a few days getting back. I think what it does is exaggerate my shooting flaws. I have a tendency to shoot a little to the right (edge of "10 ring" consistently). I can eat up the target, but always 1/2-1" to the right depending how far I am shooting. I ...

Sounds great. I will do that. Same goes if you ever make it up to the Charlotte area. I have a great free range, it is outdoors, but up to 300 yards for the long guns.

Interesting. I agree. I think the RIA may be my next purchase. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. Incidentally, I spent a couple of months in your neck of the woods a few years ago. I used to be a consultant with a company who did a lot of mosquito control after you guys had all th...

PA-63 from CDNN
I ordered my PA-63 from CDNN. Ask for Jerry. I got the midgrade and was very pleased (I also ordered the Beretta 96 at the same time). By going with the PA-63, I would certainly highly recommend the springs upgrade. I ordered mine form Gunbroker, but can get them from wolff gun springs. It made a wo...

I am quite surprised by the positive RIA feedback. I guess I was under the impression that it was a "cheap copy" and therefore not reliable. I had the same experience before purchasing the PA-63, which has turned out to be a great buy.

Norm- That is a great comparison. I am assuming that the RIA is pretty good. They are about the same price as the High Standard (RIA is $429 new and the high standard is $499 here in Charlotte). Is that about the going rate? It is a little frightening to see a 1911-type for less than $500. It worrie...

I was thinking of using it for extreme CCW (under a jacket), but more for hunting and shooting. I have a few CCW weapons (P3AT, PA-63) and some larger .40 in Sig and Beretta 96. I am really looking for a .45 and if I can CC some that would be even better. I have not tried the millenium, but am a big...

Any thoughts on the High Standard? A friend of mine has one of the "compact". It looks nice. I have not shot it, but desperately want a 1911-type and the price is nice.
