Re: I got shot by my P64 yesterday...
First, to the OP: Thanks for sharing. This confirms one of my fears with this gun in particular. It is also one of the reasons that I no longer carry mine. I purchased a PA63 to use when I am in the mood for 9x18 carry due to the firing pin safety incorporated in to that design. I am always on the l...

Re: Range time
How did you move your rear sight, if you don't mind my asking? Mine is off center to the left. I really enjoyed shooting mind for the first time too this past weekend. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I got a nice 1.5" 5 round group from 10 yards right off the bat. jbabbler, everytime I ...

Re: Range time
I am always pleasantly surprised when I take my P64 to the range. It is an accurate gun for its size and I shoot it every bit as good as my G19. I have had excellent results with Barnaul, Silver Bear and Hornady 95gr loads.

Interesting find. I'm not one for flap style holsters and I must confess, my Makarov is a working gun so it rides in a Galco IWB holster.

Re: hammer strut with broken tab
Wow, that sucks. Do you have a picture of the offending strut and, does the gun dry fire w/o it? How much of the strut is broken off? You will most likely not be able to find one specifically for this gun but now may be a good time to see if a ppk, pa63 or similar could be made to work. Can you retu...

Re: Theoretical Spring Post
I was recently doing some research on a Browning High Power site about hammer and recoil springs. On the site they stated that Browning eventually went to the same hammer spring strength as the .40 BHP on the 9mm MKIII. Supposedly this would reduce slide velocity, reduce battering/wear, and extend ...

Re: What will be the next great surplus import?
Any rumors as to what rifle or pistol import will be next? Every time I think we have seen the last one, another great gun comes along. Could Russia import the Makarov in .22cal? Will their agreement not to export the Makarov to the U.S. expire like the assault weapons ban? Is there any decent surp...

Galco PPK IWB holster works great for me
Just thought I pass this along... I've been carrying my P64 in this holster for the past 2 months now and have been very pleased with it. It was the thinnest holster I could find and the price was right at $25. It's a Galco made for a PPK and fits perfectly. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc81/j...

I would love to see a huge batch of R61's come to our shores. That gun seems to be the best aspects of both the P64 and PA-63 combined.

Re: Considering getting a P64 for the wife
While the P64 may appear to be similar in size to a PA-63 I can tell you that it definitely doesn't feel that way. My P64 feels much smaller in my hand and in an IWB holster than the PA-63. The P64 is actually more close in size to an FEG R61.

Re: ball or jhp
I read about not using the p-64 with some of the hotter ammo on here, and other places, so I shot an email over to Buffalo Bore and asked them about using the 115 gr load out now in the gun, and also when the +p jhp will be available. They responded with this: "I see no reason why you cannot u...
