Competition

Rat, put a sock in it! If you bothered to read previous posts for this thread, you would realize that this is a friendly accuracy competition started by a Polish Army Officer. The people on this board know all about defensive shooting. And by the way, Poland isn't "commie" these days. You'...

Maks and P-64's

Welcome to the board, but you're singing to an experienced choir. Much progress has been made to solve the DA problem, and to enhance anything about the P-64 you can think of. To benefit from this experience, and save a lot of time and effort, recommend you browse thoroughly through the various topi...

hermannek, I just discovered that you are also from Poland, and want to thank you for the great photos and information. As I told bartosz, my roots lead back to Medrzechow from the Bialek family. It is special to have good, factual information from the country of origin. Wishing you a great new year...

HOW TO DISASSEMBLY YOUR P-64

abwehr,
I wasn't talking about Corbon Powerball bullet wt.. It's the energy and velocity posted on their site for the 9 Mak that were well below their 380 load numbers.
Must be a mistake, but I just checked the site, and it's still showing the same numbers.

Triangular or round hammer?

Are they all coming with the thumbrest left grip? Theory was that they started importing a year or so ago with the original flat grips, but sometime this year changed the left grip to meet import rules for pistols.
Would appreciate comeback from those who shopped recently.

HOW TO DISASSEMBLY YOUR P-64

Should be fine, but I posted that their website was showing a much weaker load for the 9X18 than their listed 380 load. Somebody said it might have been a mistake, but I would check before buying.

Replacing the mainspring for lighter DA pull

Yes you are. Just recock the hammer with a finger on the spring and the tooling hole reappears. At least I think that's it. If not, it's the other way around, but all you do is drop in the paper clip and then line up the holes for the pin. I jut tried 3 different spring and washer or no washer combo...

Novgarod, don't know what the accuracy will show with repect to bullet wt, but I do know that 20 - 25% more mass in the bullet will cause more recoil, and usually dictate a longer overall cartridge length, unless you handload. Also am quite sure that the P-64 will feed and function more optimally wh...

HOW TO DISASSEMBLY YOUR P-64

Been tryin' to tell folks that the gun is best with ammo in the 90-95 grain range. They keep buying the heavy for caliber, longer case length stuff.
Result is usually heavier recoil and probable feed problems.

Maybe the design data from Bartos will convince them.

Replacing the mainspring for lighter DA pull

Novagrod,
All you have to do is cock the hammer after you remove grips, and all tension is released, exposing the hole.. Then you simply insert the brad, paper clip, etc. Makes it simple.

I went to the range with my P64

cz, the heavier the bullet wt., the more this pistol is going to punish. Find some 90 -95 stuff. The heavy for caliber bullets will also have a longer cartrige length, which, again, the P-64 wasn't designed for. And if you have the left thumbrest replacement grip, you may have to do some work on it....

Shooting your P64

HOLD ON BOYS. Have you looked at the Corbon data on the 9 Mak powerball? A 70 gr bullet at 1150 FPS and 206 lbs of energy? That's TERRIBLE if the data is correct.
They show 1250 fps and 243 lbs energy for the 380.

Suggest you ask Corbon if that is a mistake. If it isn't, don't waste your money.

Mike, Bartos' post clearly states that it was an acronym for the multiple designers. You must have been in a hurry.

Nimble, if you have one with the replaced left grip(thumbrest type), you might want a light glove, till you get a slip on grip, or smooth the uneven edge. Just a suggestion. They say it'll bite you.
